Freedom to Love Conference by Christopher West

Do you want to deepen your insight about Theology of the Body by the late Pope John Paul II? If yes, we invite you to attend the Freedom to Love Conference on June 9, 2012 (Saturday) from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Clear Water Academy Gymnasium in Calgary. This is to be presented by no less than world-renowned lecturer and bestselling author Christopher West of the Theology of the Body Institute, who is one of the most sought-after speakers in the Catholic church today on Theology of the Body. This event is sponsored by Couples for Christ in partnership with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary.

The Theology of the Body is Pope John Paul II’s first major teaching project during his pontificate. It is a study of how God reveals Himself in and through the human body. This profound and beautiful teaching calls everyone – regardless of age or vocation – to an authentic understanding and living out of what it means to be created male and female in the image and likeness of God. A series of 129 talks delivered during the late Pope’s Wednesday audiences from September 1979 to November 1984, the Theology of the Body addresses the two most fundamental and universal questions of what it means to be human and how we can live life in a way that brings true happiness and fulfillment. Therefore, this is a rich, refined understanding of our Catholic faith and ultimately a re-discovery of the very meaning and purpose of life.

There are good reasons why the Theology of the Body is in such demand around the world.  It is renewing marriages, awakening vocations, healing deep personal wounds, and setting people free to live the life of greatness they were created for. For the Youth of today, Theology of the Body will speak powerfully.  Many youth and young adults do not understand their sexuality, let alone their purpose in life, yet they have a strong desire to do so. The Theology of the Body speaks to the deepest meaning of why they were created, the purpose of love and sexuality, and the meaning of life.

Recognizing the world’s confusion, Pope John Paul II proclaimed the Theology of the Body–a profound message of love and human sexuality.  He turned the notion of freedom on its head, declaring it to be selfless rather than selfish.  He says “freedom exists for the sake of love.”  Authentic freedom, therefore, always asks “what is the good of the other person,” not “what’s in it for me?”

In this powerful study for adults and young adults alike, Christopher West lays out a convincing and refreshing road map to living a life of freedom.  The concepts presented in this study will change everything, including your worldview.
